After many successful years in the bean industry, Dompe purchased the company of very successful seed developers, Ben Fish & Son. The original creators of the Dompe 95 Large Lima Seed, Ben Fish & Son are known for their sales of all green baby lima beans for consumption use.

In 1943, three Dompe brothers started growing beans. As their supply grew, these brothers decided to start a warehouse of their own to house their products. Overtime, Dompe Beans began taking in products from outside companies and are now warehousing for multiple bean farmers throughout California.
Dompe beans became known as one of the leading industry innovators when Rico Dompe changed his handpicking line to an electric sorter. Continuing the legacy of innovation in the bean industry, Dompe was also the first in the United States to implement food safety regulations in 2009.
